Apostle B Mpatsi, a well-known pastor in Zimbabwe, recently addressed confusion about his statement that masturbation is not a sin.
In a video posted on YouTube, he clarified his view, saying that while masturbation itself is not a sin against God, it can be used by Satan to make believers feel ineffective in their spiritual lives.
Mpatsi explained, “God is not displeased by masturbation itself but is concerned with any behavior that takes control of an individual’s mind,” which can lead to negative judgment from the community.
He urged viewers to view the issue from a biblical standpoint, rather than his personal opinion. When asked how someone could masturbate without sinful thoughts, Mpatsi emphasized, “Many Christians lack a clear understanding of the concept of sin.”
He encouraged his followers to revisit his teachings on sin, noting, “Sin is not determined by our own perceptions but by what God defines it to be.”
Quoting 1 Thessalonians 4:3-6, he reminded the audience of God’s call for sanctification and avoiding sexual immorality, urging people to control their bodies in a holy and honorable way.
