A total of 87 children have been diagnosed with measles at Nkhotakota General Hospital.
The head of the hospital, Dr Jacob Kafulafula, said that these children are from the area of the chief Malengachanzi, Nkhanga and Mwadzama.
“Measles affects even people as young as 15 years old, so tomorrow, we will start giving vaccinations to children under 5 years old because of the lack of vaccinations and the fact that the disease has affected children from 9 months to 5 years old”, said Mr. Kafulafula.
According to Mr. Kafulafula, the symptoms of this disease include blisters on the body, flue and fever.
