Police in Neno have launched a manhunt for unknown assailants suspected of fatally assaulting a 37-year-old woman near Neno Market.

According to Neno Police Public Relations Officer, Constable Rabecca Msoliza, the victim, Brenda Langwe, who was identified as a sex worker, was discovered severely injured in the early hours of yesterday on 17  December, 2024.

Msoliza stated that Brenda sustained blisters believed to have been inflicted by a blunt object. She was rushed to Neno District Hospital but tragically succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment.

Authorities in the district have since initiated investigations to apprehend the suspects, who remain at large.
