A prison warder, identified as Thoko Mwale, has been interdicted for allegedly kidnapping an Indian national and demanding a ransom of 20 million kwacha in Chimula Blantyre.

Sources from the prison service have confirmed the development to media saying that Mwale’s interdiction is pending an ongoing investigation into the case.

Mwale was arrested in Blantyre alongside Lisa Utonga Bleya in connection with the alleged kidnapping. Further details about the investigation have not yet been disclosed.
