The Central Committee of the United Transformation Movement (UTM) has formed the Presidential Council of Founding Members which will play advisory role to the party President Dr. Dalitso Kabambe.

UTM spokesperson Felix Njawala has confirmed of the development in a statement made available to this publication.

According to Njawala, the Central committee the Presidential Council will be chaired by Honorable Newton Kambala.

Former UTM Secretary General Patricia Kaliati, Joseph Chidanti Malunga and Annie Makuta have been roped in as members.

“The UTM Central Committee is proud to announce the formation of a Presidential Council for Founding Members, a vital addition to the party’s leadership framework. This council will play a critical role in providing strategic counsel to the President and the party on key political and campaign matters,” said Njawala in the statement.

Added Njawala: “The Central Committee has reaffirmed its decision to retain Hon. Noel Masangwi as the Patron of the Party, in recognition of his enduring commitment and invaluable contributions to UTM’s progress.

“The Party President, Dr. Dalitso Kabambe, and the entire UTM leadership extend their heartfelt congratulations to all appointees. These appointments reflect the party’s unwavering confidence in their abilities to advance the ideals of UTM and to help realize the vision of Tsogolo Lowala, as envisioned by our late leader, Dr. Saulos Chilima.”
