Alliance for Democracy (AFORD) President Enoch Kamzingeni Chihana on Wednesday met former President Peter Mutharika at PAGE house in the eastern district of Mangochi.

Chihana was accompanied by his wife Tadala.

Although the agenda of the meeting is not yet known, rumours have it that the two discussed the possible alliance between AFORD and the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) ahead of the 2025 polls.

According to sources, Chihana wants to be a running mate of Mutharika at the polls but some DPP top gurus are not comfortable.
