Police in Mchinji have rescued a listed endangered species, a live pangolin, in Kalingumbwa Village, Traditional Authority Simphasi.
According to the reports by police, the pangolin was spotted idling around the graveyard in the area during the morning of 26 December 2024.
Mchinji Police Station Public Relations Officer Limbani Mpinganjira said police learnt about the listed endangered species in the area through a well-wisher’s tip and detectives moved swiftly to the scene and managed to rescue it.
Meanwhile the live pangolin has been handed over to the officials from Wildlife and Parks for its safety.
