State Vice President Dr. Michael Usi has said he will not appear before the disciplinary committee of the United Transformation Movement (UTM).
when addressing the people that gathered at his office residence at Mudi in Blantyre yesterday, Usi who once served as UTM President following the death of former Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima, said the current UTM leadership is illegal.
“In as far as I am concerned, they [UTM leadership] don’t exist because they are not legitimate.
“They did not follow the [UTM] constitution. So, to appear before them it’s like I am telling the nation that I am recognising them as leaders of UTM,” said Usi.
Usi went further to accuse the current UTM leadership of having evil plans against him.
The former UTM President also accused some UTM top officials of swindling MK61 million meant for Chilima’s funeral in Ntcheu.
He then called upon the top leadership to explain to Malawians how the said money received from government was used.
Reacting to Usi’ UTM spokesperson Felix Njawala accused the VP of being a confunsionist.
