Unknown armed criminals attacked the Agora Area Manager, Israel Mhlanga, and his assistant at Green Corner Puma Filling Station in Mpemba, stealing MK23 million, two laptops, and a point of sale machine.
The robbery occurred after they had collected the money in Chikwawa and were returning to Blantyre. At Mpemba, their vehicle was blocked by a Toyota Land Cruiser occupied by armed criminals.
Despite a smashed windshield, they managed to escape but were chased to the filling station, where they fled, leaving their vehicle and stolen items behind.
Police have launched a manhunt for the suspects.
