The police in Mzuzu are holding two people, Erick Tembo, 50 years old, and Alex Chumba, 32 years old, in custody after they were found with two motorbikes which are believed to be stolen.

Mzuzu police deputy spokesperson Cecilia Mfune said the two were arrested on January 2, 2025, in Mzuzu city when they wanted to sell the bikes.

The two bikes, which are the blue Khulich and the black Sajava, were confiscated from the two men after they failed to provide the proper bike papers.

Meanwhile, Mr. Tembo and Mr. Chumba have been charged with possession of stolen property and will appear in court soon.

Tembo comes from Mzimba district in the village of Chibwangandu, to the great Chief M’mbelwa, and Chumba comes from the Nkhatabay district in the village of Nthula to the great Chief Kabunduli.
