A 23-year old popular music artist in Mangochi Abdul-Karim Saidi, popularly known as Bandera Wachiyao, has been arrested on allegations of abducting a 14-year girl.

Mangochi Police Spokesperson Amina Tepani Daudi, says Bandera allegedly abducted the form 2 student over the weekend and stayed with her for two days, following a romantic affair with the minor for 3 months.

Tepani Daudi says despite the girl’s mother attempting to contact her by phone, her calls went unanswered, until Bandera called and assured her not to worry about her child’s whereabouts.

It is reported that the mother organized relatives and lured Bandera into a meeting, where they apprehended and handed him over to police.

The police spokesperson says Bandera claimed that he kept the girl because he was planning to shoot a music video with her, which the police have ignored, saying has been charged with abduction.
