The case of United Transformation Movement (UTM) leader Dr. Dalitso Kabambe has now been sent to the High Court Financial Crimes Division.

Chief Resident Magistrate Austin Banda, who heard the case, stated that, depending on the complexity of the case, it is important that it be heard in the main court.

This follows Dr. Kabambe’s appearance in the Magistrate’s Court in Lilongwe, where he faces charges of misappropriating approximately 14 billion kwacha in public funds.

However, Dr. Kabambe’s lawyer stated that he is ready to proceed with the case in the main court and added that he has not seen any evidence that Dr. Kabambe has committed a crime.
