Blantyre City South East Member of Parliament, Sameer Suleman, has arrived at the Blantyre Magistrate’s Court to face formal charges following his surrender to police on Monday.

Suleman turned himself in at the Blantyre Police Station after a warrant for his arrest was issued. However, his appearance at the court was expedited early this morning due to a commotion at the police station, where his sympathizers reportedly gathered to demand his release.

Police sources revealed that Suleman was rushed to the court at around 6 a.m. to avoid escalating tensions.

As proceedings begin, there is a heavy police presence securing the area, with officers stationed from the main entrance to the courtroom to ensure order.

Details of the charges against Suleman have not yet been disclosed, but the case has drawn significant public and political attention. Updates on the proceedings are expected as the court session unfolds.
