Police in Limbe have confirmed that two individuals suspected of kidnaping and  robbing Indian national Shabil Patel of his money in December 2024 will appear in court on the 20th of January.

Limbe Police spokesperson, Aubrey Singanyama, has said that a 31year-old prison guard at Chichiri Prison Thocco Mwale, and Lisa Utonga Buleya, 42, are currently being held in custody at Chichiri Prison in Blantyre while investigations continue.

Singanyama added that the suspects were allegedly involved in a scheme that also included a Nigerian national, who is suspected to have assisted them in planning the robbery. The investigation is still ongoing, with more details to follow during the court proceedings.
