Information reaching our news desk indicates that police have launched an investigation following reports that about 15 computers have been stolen from Phalombe Secondary School.
According to Mphatso Nkuonera, Public Relations Officer for the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, the theft is a significant blow to the ministry’s efforts to embrace digital learning.
“Unfortunately, this theft is a serious setback because it undermines the journey towards digital learning,” Nkuonera stated.
Nkuonera added that the computers were donated by the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) to enhance digital learning in schools.
Phalombe Police Station Officer Marco Mvukutaha said the police have launched an investigation into the matter.
