Kanengo police in Lilongwe arrested a 42-year-old man named Henry Kachilika in Area 27 on suspicion of having sex with a 14-year-old boy.

The boy’s relatives told us that the boy had a fight with his parents about some issues and he went on strike while running away from home, but when he came back, he said that the suspect who lives next door, asked to take the boy to counsel him.

But while there, it is said that the man started abusing the child, and in the morning he threatened him not to say anything at home. But the child told his parents, who reported the matter to the police.

Kanengo police spokesman Grecium Ngwira has confirmed the arrest of the man who is from the village of Salima chief Khongoni in Lilongwe district.

The suspect will appear before court soon.
