Woman Wanted In Rumphi For Killing Baby Boy

Police in Rumphi have intensified an investigation to arrest a woman for Killing a baby boy estimated to be 4 to 7 days old.
The dead body was found wrapped in a plastic bag dumped at Matunkha stream on January 9, 2025.
The matter was reported to Rumphi Police Station and the scene was visited by police officers together with medical personnel from Rumphi District Hospital.
Postmortem conducted revealed that death was due to suffocation and as such foul play is suspected.
Investigations are underway to trace the suspect and when arrested, she will answer a charge of Infanticide.
