The Lilongwe Magistrate Court has adjourned the hearing of Alfred Gangata’s case to 2 PM today, following a bail application submitted by his defense lawyer, Felix Tambulasi.
Tambulasi argued that Gangata, a reputable individual with family, business responsibilities, and his role as the vice president of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), deserves bail without conditions.
However, state prosecutor Watson Chirwa opposed the application, prompting Principal Resident Magistrate Benjamin Chulu to reserve the ruling.
Further updates are expected as the court reconvenes.
