A selfie picture of Cecil Malunga, a Mighty Mukuru Wanderers supporter currently in police custody in Blantyre, has sparked conversations across social media platforms.

The photo which is now going viral on internet, is showing Malunga and his cell-mates,  posing confidently despite being detained, seems to send a message to Malawians about his situation.

Police have yet to comment on how the photo was taken or circulated as it prohibited for a person to possess phone while in police custody.

Malunga was arrested on suspicion of being involved in an alleged plot against Mighty Mukuru Wanderers’ chairman, Panganeni Ndovi, on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at a local filling station in Blantyre.

He is expected to appear in court soon to answer the charges against him.
