Police in Salima have arrested Michael Yohane, 39, for allegedly being in possession of various medicines without proper authorization.

According to Salima Police spokesperson Rabecca Ndiwate, the confiscated items include 40,000 Amoxicillin tablets, 48,000 Panado tablets, and 24,000 Metronidazole tablets, among others.

Yohane was apprehended yesterday at Kamphatenga Roadblock after failing to present valid documentation permitting him to possess the medicines.

The suspect hails from Bakali Village, Traditional Authority Nsanama in Machinga District. He is expected to appear in court soon to answer charges related to the unauthorised possession of medical drugs.
