Nkhunga First grade magistrate in Nkhotakota has convicted and sentenced a 29 year-old man for allegedly defiling his 14 year-old stepdaughter.

The state prosecutor Mickeas Chasira, identified the convict as Mike Paul who is believed to commit the crime from September to December 2024 when he got married with the victim’s mother.

Chasira told the court that, the convict used to sleep with child when his wife went away for piecework.

The abuse continued unnoticed until concerned members of the community reported it to the Headmaster of a school where the child was schooling.

Police arrested Paul who is now a convict of defilement case serving his 14 year jail-term.

Mike Paul hails from Kobisa village, under Chief Vuso Jere in Ntchisi district.
