Senior Resident Magistrate’s court in Mangochi has ruled that traditional music singer Abdul-Kalim Saidi, popularly known as Bandera, has a case to answer regarding charges of child sex and abduction.

The court was satisfied with the evidence presented by the state, finding that both charges had been sufficiently proven.

Through his lawyer, Bandela requested more time to prepare his defense, and the court has adjourned the case until January 21.

Bandela is accused of sleeping with a minor in December last year and abducting the child from January 2-3, violating sections 138(1) and 136 of the country’s Criminal Procedure Code.
