Police at Area 30 in Lilongwe have arrested four individuals suspected of being involved in the theft and distribution of ESCOM property.

Deputy National Police Spokesperson Harry Namwaza confirmed the arrests, identifying the suspects as Xu Hongxiang, a 62-year-old Chinese national, and three Malawians: Eliko Frackson (25), Frezer Clement (26), and Yamala Lameck (29).

Namwaza stated that the suspects were found in possession of 40 bags of copper wires.

The suspects are expected to appear in court soon to answer charges related to the case.
