The Nkhunga Magistrate’s Court in Nkhotakota District has sentenced a 30-year-old man, Mr. Thomas Nkhata, to 14 years in prison for molesting a 14-year-old child.

The government’s witness, Sergeant Mussa Samuteni, told the court that Mr. Nkhata married the child on January 11 this year in the village of Nkhandwe in the area of ​​chief Kanyenda in the district.

“The child was playing with his friends at 11 o’clock at night and the father invited him to a house that people do not use (Dilapidated building) where the father got rid of his desires”, Mr. Samuteni told the court.

The government brought two witnesses to the court.
