A 24-year-old woman, Veronica Charles, from Kamzimbe Village in the area of Traditional Authority Chiwere, Dowa District, has successfully given birth to triplets at Dowa District Hospital.
According to George Phiri, the maternity ward supervisor at the hospital, the babies were delivered without any complications. Two of the newborns are boys, while one is a girl. Their weights are recorded at 2400.80g, 2400.90g, and 2509.60g, which Phiri described as healthy and within the normal range.
The grandmother of the triplets, Lesita Tiwopambiri, has appealed for support from well-wishers, citing financial difficulties in raising the three babies.
The family is hopeful that assistance will help them provide the children with the care and resources they need for a healthy start in life.
