Police at Nkhunga in Nkhotakota have arrested as 40 year-old man on suspicion of allegedly defiling his neighbor’s 9 year-old daughter

Spokesperson for Nkhunga police station Andrew Kamanga has confirmed the arrest and identified the suspect as Reuben Banda.

According to Kamanga, the suspect had a tendency of charting with victim in his house when she gets home after classes. It reported that during the material day, Banda did the same when he invited the victim and defiled her.

The child’s mother noticed some changes in her daughter after seeing her experiencing difficulties in walking. When asked the daughter who is in Standard 2, she revealed to her mother that the suspect had defiled her. She was taken to hospital for where it was confirmed that she was indeed defiled.

Reuben  Banda is currently in police custody and he will soon appear in court to answer defilement charges
