The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), under the leadership of Border Czar Tim Horman, has announced that 56 Malawian nationals are among those slated for deportation due to illegal entry into the United States and involvement in various criminal activities.

This follows a nationwide immigration crackdown on Sunday, which resulted in the arrest of 956 individuals—the highest number since Donald Trump assumed office, according to ICE reports.

The operation involved several federal agencies with newly expanded detention powers and targeted multiple cities, including Chicago, Newark, and Miami.

The raids come as part of a broader effort to enforce stricter immigration policies, with Trump’s administration maintaining a focus on mass deportations of undocumented immigrants, a key element of his campaign agenda.
