Blantyre Police spokesperson Peter Mchiza has confirmed that they summoned Kenford Chipelesa, the manager of a standard 7 pupil content creator Ndaziona, to advise him regarding the content of her videos.
Chipelesa, popularly known on Facebook as Ken B Wazakena, manages Ndaziona, for her Makilinyombe Comedy skits. According to Mchiza, police cautioned Chipelesa that some of the videos featuring Ndaziona may not be appropriate for her age.
“We only advised him that certain videos may violate children’s rights by exposing young girls to inappropriate content. Violating children’s rights is a criminal offense in this country,” Mchiza explained.
Following the discussion with the police, Chipelesa said he would now ensure that future videos do not raise public concerns as the recent one did.
“We create these videos to generate income that helps support Ndaziona, who lives with her grandparents and comes from a disadvantaged background. The police advised us to avoid content that portrays Ndaziona discussing the benefits of having blessers (sugar daddies),” he said.
Chipelesa acknowledged that such videos could mislead young girls into believing that engaging with blessers is acceptable, and he vowed to be more cautious moving forward.
