U.S. President Donald Trump has suspended aid for life-prolonging antiretroviral (ARV) drugs, stating that the program will remain on hold until a full policy review is conducted.

Trump has also halted funding for malaria and tuberculosis (TB) medication in all countries that receive aid under the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

The announcement has been communicated to all agencies and contractors involved in the distribution of these essential medicines.

The former president has set a 90-day period to review all aid policies related to supporting low-income countries, raising concerns about the potential impact on millions of people who rely on these medications for survival.
