Plus-sized rapper Dank Demoss, also known as Dajua Blanding, has filed a lawsuit against Lyft after an upsetting encounter with one of their drivers in Detroit.
In a viral TikTok video, Demoss recounted how the driver, Ibrahim, refused to let her into his Mercedes-Benz sedan, claiming there was no room and her weight would damage the car’s tires.
Despite Ibrahim’s half-hearted apology, he canceled the ride, suggesting she order a larger vehicle.
Demoss, who weighs 554 pounds, expressed how hurtful the experience was, noting she has fit into smaller cars before.
The video, posted on January 19, has garnered over 340,000 views, drawing attention to size discrimination.
