Woman Arrested in Chileka for Dumping Newborn Baby in Toilet

Police in Chileka, Blantyre, have arrested a 23-year-old woman, Ndiuzani Stephano, for allegedly dumping her newborn baby boy in a toilet.
According to Chileka Police spokesperson Jonathan Phillipo, the woman was pregnant, and on the previous day, her landlords heard a baby crying from the toilet.
They immediately reported the matter to local security personnel, who, together with the police, demolished the toilet and rescued the baby.
The newborn is currently receiving medical care at Mlambe Mission Hospital in Blantyre.
Stephano hails from Mthita 2 Village under Traditional Authority Mulumbe in Zomba District.
