Catholic Bishops Conference Elects New Leadership

The Malawi Conference of Catholic Bishops (MCCB), has elected Bishop Martin Anwell Mtumbuka, Bishop of the Karonga Diocese, as its new chairman.

Bishop Mtumbuka takes over from Archbishop George Desmond Tambala, Archbishop of the Lilongwe Archdiocese.

Bishop Peter Adrian Chifukwa, Bishop of the Dedza Diocese, has been elected as the vice-chairman.

The elections were announced in a statement issued by the conference’s secretary-general, Monsignor Valeriano Mtseka.
