A 25 year-old woman is in pains at Nsanje District Hospital after being stabbed by her ex husband on Tuesday night following marital conflicts.

Nsanje police spokesperson, Agnes Zalakoma, has identified the woman as Hilda Mbereko of Therere village under Traditional Authority Malemia in the district.

“It has been reported that the couple got married some years ago and was blessed with two children. Early last year, they separated due to family misunderstandings.

“The suspect who has not been identified, has been pleading for forgiveness but the victim referred him to family mediators for him to be accepted back home.

She added, “the suspect who is currently at large, went to the victim’s house for dialogue again which the woman declined this angered the suspect who allegedly stabbed the victim three times on the lower umbilical button, left belly and on the left arm.”
