Information reaching this publication indicates that the remains of three Malawian soldiers, who died in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) while fighting M23 rebels, have arrived in Kampala, Uganda by road, where they will be prepared and sent to Malawi.

According to the Southern African Development Community (SADC), the bodies, along with those of slain soldiers from South Africa and Tanzania, were transported with the aid of the United Nations (UN) by road due to flight disruptions in the DRC caused by heavy fighting.

Further reports suggest that the bodies will arrive in Malawi on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the Malawi Defence Force (MDF) is yet to comment on the matter.
