The Roads Fund Administration (RFA) has announced that it has collected K12.7 billion from toll gates since their introduction in November 2021.
RFA spokesperson Masauko Mngwaluko confirmed that the revenue has been generated from all toll gates established in Malawi, starting with Chingeni Toll Gate, which was launched in 2021, followed by Kalinyeke Toll Gate in Dedza.
According to Mngwaluko, K3.8 billion from the collected funds has been allocated for the rehabilitation of the tarmac road from Kamwamba to Zalewa.
The RFA continues to use toll gate revenue for road maintenance and infrastructure development, ensuring improved road conditions across the country.
