Two men identified as Dyson Kholowa, 40, and Josephy Banda, 43, have been arrested by Police in Lingadzi for being connected to a series of robberies at ABC and Area 43 in Lilongwe.

Assistant Public Relations Officer for Lingadzi Police Station Constable Glory Kondowe Ngwira has confirmed of the arrest.

She indicated that the two were traced through a call log of a stolen phone from a robbery case which occured in new area 43 and some items in their houses were seized by Police detectives.

“Upon searching, police managed to trace driving licences, ATM cards and other identify cards whose owners have been identified and they were victims of robbery incidents at Mtsiriza junction near ABC.

The suspects have admitted to the charges as investigations are still underway to recover stolen phones.

They have further revealed that they committed the offences with other criminals who are currently on remand for similar cases under Lilongwe and Kanengo police stations.

The three remandees have been identified as Amidu, 27, Evance Lufeyo, 39, and Madalitso Soniyala, 37.
