Police in the South West Region have arrested nine people suspected to have been involved in murder and robbery crimes in Blantyre and Zomba.
According to South West Region Police public relations officer Beatrice Mikuwa, the nine are Morgan Nyala, (71), Felix Malizani, (24), Samson Selemani (30), Joseph Bakili (aka chief) Amos Fyson (29), Henry Kaminga (26), Emmanuel Bokosi (22), Monex Chiombo (52) and Grey Chimdeyi (25).
She said following the report made to police, Blantyre and Zomba police detectives instituted an investigations which led to the arrest of the suspects.
“We received a report of series of crimes which led to the institution of investigations between Zomba and Blantyre police and we successfully managed to arrest the nine, while one more suspect is still at large,” she said.
Mikuwa said the suspects will soon appear in court to answer charges leveled against them.
