Chikwawa Member of Parliament, Susan Dossi, has defended President Lazarus Chakwera following accusations that he took credit for a clinic built by a local organization.

The controversy arose after the President, in his State of the Nation Address (SONA), stated that the government had already constructed a health post in Finiyasi and Liston. However, local reports indicate that no such facilities have been built yet.

Dossi clarified that the President was referring to upcoming government-funded health posts, not the clinic constructed by the organization.

“The President said ‘we have constructed.’ To me, maybe he meant we are done with the processes to construct the two health posts,” she explained.

She further assured that the government is committed to completing the Finiyasi and Liston health posts within six months.

Despite the clarification, some community members remain concerned about the accuracy of the President’s claims regarding completed infrastructure projects.
