Students at Emchakachakeni Community Day Secondary School (CDSS) in Mzimba District have vandalized school property in protest against their head teacher, who is accused of pursuing romantic relationships with female students.

The unrest erupted after a female student revealed in class that the head teacher had been pressuring her into a relationship. She shared audio recordings of his alleged advances, sparking outrage among her classmates.

In retaliation, students destroyed school buildings and demanded his immediate transfer. Some even attacked the head teacher, pelting him with stones and injuring him. He is currently receiving treatment at Embangweni Mission Hospital.

The protest began around 10 p.m. last night, but police only arrived at 10 a.m. today, nearly 12 hours later, a delay that has drawn criticism from community members.

Authorities are investigating the matter as calls grow for action against the accused head teacher.
