The Senior Resident Magistrate Court in Lilongwe has temporarily suspended the case involving Hanna Jabes, popularly known as Tamia Ja on social media, until 3 PM today.

According to her legal representative, Stanley Chirwa, the lawyer who initially filed the case was absent, and the matter has now been handed over to new prosecutors who have yet to obtain the necessary authorization from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Chirwa further stated that they have only heard rumors regarding the charges against Jabes and are still waiting for official court proceedings. As a result, he has requested the court to dismiss the case.

Presiding Magistrate Shukurani Kumbani announced that the court will reconvene at 3 PM to proceed with the matter.

This case was previously adjourned on January 27, 2025, after the prosecution failed to submit case documents to the accused.
