Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Treasurer General, Dr. John Paul, has emerged victorious in the Mchinji West primary elections, securing 942 votes. Dr. Paul defeated five other candidates to clinch the party’s nomination for the upcoming September 16 elections.

Maxwell Thyolera, MCP’s Director of Political Affairs, has called on the losing contestants to support the winner and refrain from running as independent candidates. He emphasized that this move is crucial to strengthen the party’s position ahead of the general elections.

In other election results, Daniel Kachikoti won the Boma ward with 402 votes, while Esnart Chitawo triumphed in the Msachembe ward, amassing 351 votes to become MCP’s candidate for the area.
