The Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS) has temporarily shut down the kitchen and restaurant of Linde Hotel in Mponela, Dowa, due to unhygienic conditions.
This follows a recent inspection where MBS officials found that the hotel was not adhering to the required hygiene standards for food preparation and processing.
MBS Public Relations Officer, Monica Khombe, stated that the suspension will be lifted once the hotel addresses the identified issues in line with the Malawi Code of Hygienic Conditions.
Meanwhile, Linde Hotel’s Managing Director, Liness Kamowa is yet to comment on the matter.
