
Mitundu Hospital HSA Arrested for Selling Samsung Phones and Bicycle

The police in Lilongwe have arrested a health advisor (HSA) from Mitundu Hospital for selling goods that were given to him for personal use.
Lilongwe police spokesperson Hastings Chigalu said 26-year-old Austin Majawa is suspected of selling three Samsung Galaxy phones and a bicycle.
The total value of the items was approximately K2.6 million, but he sold all the phones together for K340,000 and the bicycle for K50,000.
The official, who was hired in 2023, led the police to where the goods were sold, and all of the items have since been recovered.
