Police have confirmed the death of an unidentified man found along a rail line in Zalewa, Neno District, after reportedly being run over by a train.

Neno Police Publicist, Rebecca Msoliza, stated that the body is currently being kept at Mwanza District Hospital mortuary, awaiting identification.

The body, which bore severe cuts, was discovered by the operator of locomotive train K548.

Authorities suspect the man may have been struck by another train prior to the discovery.

Msoliza added that the body was transported to Mwanza District Hospital, where it was determined that the cause of death was severe blood loss due to the injuries sustained.
