The United Transformation Movement (UTM) has strongly condemned the rising political violence in the country.

The party has particularly condemned an incident which occured in Machinga, yesterday, where an MCP vehicle was vandalized and another vehicle was stoned.

Meanwhile, the party has described these acts as “barbaric”.

In a statement, Felix Njawala National Publicity Secretary for UTM highlighted that the party has been a victim of similar violence in the past.

According to Njawala, their vehicles were burned in Mangochi and stoned in Mulanje, Phalombe, and Machinga during the 2019 campaign period.

The party has since urged law enforcement agencies to take swift action and bring perpetrators to justice.
