Legendary Malawian musician Giddes Chalamanda has been admitted to Chiradzulu District Hospital, where he is receiving medical treatment.
The news was shared by social media influencer Pemphero Mphande, who revealed in a Facebook post that Chalamanda had not been feeling well for the past week.
“I would like to share with you all that we took Mr. Giddes Chalamanda to Chiradzulu District Hospital today, and he has been admitted. He has been unwell and was at the hospital again last week. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers,” Mphande wrote.
He also provided contact details for those willing to assist or visit the music icon at the hospital. Donations can be sent via Airtel Money (his wife’s number) or TNM Mpamba (his personal number) at 0983252855 and 0888181445, respectively.
Fans and well-wishers have since flooded social media with prayers and messages of support for the 94-year-old musician, best known for timeless hits such as Linny Hoo and Buffalo Soldier.
