
Business Halted as Lilongwe Vendors Demonstrate Over Price Hikes

Business has come to a halt in Old Town, Lilongwe, as secondhand clothes vendors stage a protest against the rising prices of used clothing bales.
The vendors say the continuous price hikes are severely affecting their businesses, making it difficult to earn a living. In response, they have decided to suspend operations for the day and have also urged wholesalers to keep their shops closed in solidarity.
They are calling on authorities to intervene and find a solution to the escalating costs that are threatening their livelihoods.
Currently, the vendors are on their to parliament building in Lilongwe where they will present their grievances.
