President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera is set to host a youth dialogue in Blantyre this Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the Sanjika Palace. The event, which will begin at 2:30 PM, aims to provide young people with a platform to engage directly with the president on issues affecting them.

In a post on his Facebook page, President Chakwera said, “After a successful session in Lilongwe, we are now in Blantyre this week. On February 27th, we’ll meet at Sanjika Palace to hear from the youth.”

This follows a similar meeting held in Lilongwe last week, where the president addressed young people during his State of the Nation Address (SONA). However, not all attendees were satisfied with the discussions. Musician Praise Umali, who participated in the Lilongwe event, expressed his dissatisfaction on social media, stating that the questions asked were not addressing the real concerns facing young people, particularly creatives.

“I wish I had the chance to speak and address the real issues affecting us as young people. We need real conversations, not just smiles for social media,” Umali wrote on his Facebook page.

The upcoming event in Blantyre is expected to attract youth from across the southern region, with many eagerly awaiting a more direct conversation with the president.

The gathering in Lilongwe was filled with many face of Liongwe based musicians who they has opportunity to engage with President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera. Artists from the southern region are now eagerly anticipating the chance to be part of the dialogue at the next meeting, where more pressing issues impacting young people, especially in the creative industry, will hopefully be addressed.
