Vendors from Ndirande, Blantyre, are set to take to the streets tomorrow in protest against rising economic hardships.

According to Chancy Widon, chairperson of the vendors, the peaceful demonstration will take them to Blantyre City Council, where they expect to meet the District Commissioner.

“The cost of living has reached unprecedented levels. There are also unfulfilled promises, such as the construction of Nasolo Bridge. Authorities must give us answers tomorrow,” said Widon.

Meanwhile, President Lazarus Chakwera, who is in Blantyre today for a youth engagement, has repeatedly assured Malawians that the economic situation will improve soon.
