The Government Negotiating Team (GNT) and the Civil Servants Trade Union (CSTU) have reached an agreement for a 20 percent salary increase for civil servants, effective April 1, 2025.
Both GNT chairperson Charles Kalemba and CSTU secretary general Titha Gomani have confirmed the development.
According to Gomani, civil servants will receive an average salary increase of 18 percent, while transport and special allowances have been raised by 50 percent. Additionally, the leave grant will increase within the range of 10 to 40 percent.
This agreement comes after prolonged negotiations aimed at cushioning civil servants from the rising cost of living.
